Chief Teknishun grew up in the streets of Denver, Colorado in neighborhoods where he honed his skills as an MC. Poverty Stricken as a child, he had to find ways to keep his mind off famine. Therefore, he would play basketball and rap with his friends and family to escape the harsh realities of urban communities. Everyone that knows him, affiliates him as a successful Ball Player rather than a rapper. Despite his success, Teknishun hopes to persuade people with his talented abilities as a Recording Artist. His drive for stardom ignited when he belonged to a group called "Tripple Threat." They stormed the city wining various talent shows bringing home first place prizes at each event they entered. They later recorded a single called "Tripple Threat" that was never released due to lack of promotion. The group shortly split up after their first recording. Chief Teknishun acquired his alias by becoming a microphone technician. A technician is someone who specializes in an area or field which Tek can cover a variety of flows with rhythm, timing, and delivery. The name Chief was a perfect fit because of his General like voice and leadership skills he possesses to steer people in the right direction. Chief Tek feels that his lyrics are not only a way to express himself but an outlet for the hardships of minorities in urban life. He is driven by youth and wishes to uplift his community through education. He is Co-founder of "Colorado's Unheard Talent" (The Cut) a talent show put together as an alternative intervention to keep kids off the street. Currently, he is in the works of putting together shows and venues as co-owner and co-founder of Spittin Image Records. Spittin Image Records is a high powered Label on the rise and equipped with versatile artist and producers whom have an attention grabbing style that is undeniable.
